The clientА major Singapore-based maritime company, world-leading provider of international energy-related maritime transport and logistics. The company owns a fleet of over 100 tankers.

The challengeVessel supervisors working on the shore oversaw ship operations. They needed real-time data on tasks and crew safety, as their previous system relied on paper documents and async communication. The inefficiency in tracking work permits, compliance, and crew well-being led to increased risks and delays in audits.

The solutionWe developed a cloud-based reporting platform, enabling data collection, analysis, and visualization. The system included:

A web portal with dashboards for real-time monitoring of the vessel activities
Automated safety and compliance reporting
Crew well-being tracking using the smartwatch data

Supervisors oversee multiple vessels and are responsible for approving complex and hazardous tasks onboard. Before digitalization, they relied on paper-based work permits (PTW), which had to be signed, scanned, and emailed. Communication was primarily through email, making auditing and document verification time-consuming.

We created a dashboard that allows supervisors to track crew performance and onboard activities.All task-related data is now collected and shown in easy-to-understand reports.
